SHORT:
Does anyone know how to hack into the internet and find the video I made in 7th grade about Glee to the tune of Mariah Carey’s “Obsessed” (why u so obsessed with glee) ??? — I rly need it! Wish I could travel back in time and tell my teen self NOT to delete it off Facebook.
MEDIUM:
It was a busy week in Reid-land…
I had a reading of my play Holocaust Lit! — and it rocked. My fabulous* director Michael and I spent hours rewriting scenes in the evenings leading up to the presentation, which meant the actors had to learn new pages basically every single day, and they’re all going to heaven cuz they didn’t murder me for it. I hope we get a chance to work on the play again soon.
*whenever i call a gay guy fabulous it feels homophobic but he rly is fabulous!
LONG:
Less than 24 hours after the reading, I went on a run, got chocolate babka from Yardsale (Snack Of The Week), wolfed it down, and then led my weekly writer’s mtg for Late Stage Live!.
I’m feeling particularly proud of Late Stage at the moment, as we’re approaching the 1-year anniversary of Ella randomly messaging me and asking if I wanted to help her make a gay late night show.
We had no idea if anyone would watch it, or if it’d be any good, but it worked out! Trans teens around the world (Ohio/Paraguay/Australia) watch the program and comment things like, “I fall asleep to this every night” — which is a little concerning because we mostly talk about… war.
But hey, I get it, Ella’s pale, loud, and verbose (a white noise machine, if you will).
I ended the weekend by going to the Museum Of Moving Image. It’s been on my list of places to visit for quite some time. The Muppet exhibit made me emotional (lol). I love those little fuzzy things and wish Jim Henson was still alive. It was so cool to see his doodles, pitch decks, notes to fans, and prototypes.
And… I mean… how often do you get to turn a corner and see THE Miss Piggy in her wedding gown?
Wishing you a week of extreme persistence a la Miss Piggy in her relationship with Kermit1.

Thank you for subscribing to this newsletter. Sometimes it’s funny, sometimes it’s not – it’s a lot like when people slip on ice. If this is your first time reading, pls check out the archives.

Bonus Jonas Zone:
According to The Muppets Character Encyclopedia, all of Kermit and Piggy's weddings have been fictional, but Piggy carries around a marriage license in her purse, just in case.

The Jim Henson exhibit at MOMI also made me emotional :') Labyrinth is one of my favorite movies
