Welcome back, Voldemort
REID #278
SHORT:
I dream of a single day when I don’t feel like I’m wrestling with God. I’m nearly 30. I shouldn’t have to pull on a singlet, step onto the mat, lock eyes with God (blue and deeply disappointed) and pin Him to the floor just to make myself lunch. And yet… at all hours, it’s WWE.
MEDIUM:
My partner and I went to a birthday party on the coldest day of the year and, a few minutes in, realized we were the oldest people there. An effortlessly cool Gen-Z girl waved her hand over my head and said, “I can tell you’re not doing well.” It’s like she knew I’d, the day prior, made a “vision board” covered in cinnamon rolls and words like “relax”. (It’s not working yet…) (Maybe I’ll go to Cinnabon tomorrow) (Vision without execution is delusion - Thomas A. Edison)
LONG:
I’m having a really hard time making myself laugh these days. If humor is a muscle, I worry I may have over-used mine and now everything just hurts (not to worry). The only thing that came close this week was realizing the Irish woman on Traitors looked a lot like my childhood Goldfish (named Voldemort):
My childhood Goldfish (Voldemort) ate all the other fish in the tank. I’m not saying that’s what’s gonna happen with Maura on Traitors… but if it does… I think it’s safe to say that reincarnation exists and welcome back, Voldemort.
Well, I hope that was a satisfying REID. I almost skipped this week due to a raging headache, but I put on my singlet and stepped up to the mat.
Please comment with fun prompts and questions I can answer in future iterations.
