SHORT:
Every day I get closer and closer to logging onto LinkedIn and earnestly posting a quote from Henry David Thoreau…
It seems to provide my high school friends with whatever they need…
MEDIUM:
On Friday, I did a 3rd round interview for a company that “uses AI for good”.
Then my partner got mugged.
Then (because they got mugged and still don’t have a phone), they were like, “I shouldn’t go on the group hike to the wolf sanctuary that’s been on my calendar for months”.
And I was like, “no you should go”.
So they did.
And wore a wolf shirt to it, which I thought was overkill.
Is there a Thoreau quote about that?
LONG:
I’m currently staring at my World Famous Box Of Wires That I Don’t Know What They Are Or Where They Plug In But They’re Probably Important — an item I have hauled from apartment to apartment for the last four years.
The amazing thing about moving is that you remain disheveled and destabilized for weeks, even after arriving at the titular place of move.
In dysregulating times like these, it’s important to remember that things will always feel this way and there’s no hope!
Just kidding.
It does feel strange to do other things while your home is half-assembled.
I went to the dentist and kept thinking about how I maybe didn’t hang the pots and pans right and would come home to my partner pancaked on the floor Looney Tunes-style because of the precarious way I placed the skillets on the nails.
I also love how dental practitioners will drill the living shit out of your teeth and then go, “Have a GREAT day!”. It’s like, well Corey, I don’t know about “GREAT”, considering my jaw’s on fire and I can’t feel my lips, but I’ll try my best… if you INSIST!
Anyway, my Snack Of The Week were mini chocolate chip pancakes that I ended up having after the dentist (but could only chew on one side of my mouth). Jess cooked them in the pans that did not, in fact, fall when I was gone.
Also, Happy 4th, I guess.
May your day be better than the general vibe of America (low bar).
God bless any and all of you who continue to find these weekly updates remotely interesting.
As always, go back and click the most popular ones on my home page and read those to remind you of my … plurality?

Do you think every household has one of these boxes? Is my husband rare for knowing where they came from and what they fit? Is this proof of alien existence that he has this sacred electronic knowledge?
