My girlfriend can’t understand why I refuse to open fridge and use Britta and instead drink hot water from the sink cuz it’s “easier”

and also why I can’t add contacts to my phone bc it’s “too hard”

but I willingly will go on a 5 mile run.

I will watch a full 30 minute YouTube video of someone trying every sandwich at Court Street Grocers, but I will not and cannot take the 30 seconds to fasten the toilet paper roll onto the toilet paper holder (I put it on top, so it can see the world!).

Last night, I looked at old photos of myself and tried to see if the new-name-I-might-change-my-name-to “fits” the kid pictures.

I decided that it does.

I told my therapist this today and he told me “I dunno” about the name and that “I deserve a whole cookie not just crumbs” whatever the fuck that means.

This all occurred while I was moving.

I Zoomed into therapy from the floor of my empty apartment using a hotspot on my phone. Next time I move, I will cancel therapy, because now I’m in an atrocious mood.

On the bright side, the movers said I “did an incredible job packing”.

I unpacked my new bedding in front of them. My girlfriend encouraged me to buy a brightly colored duvet so that I’d be less depressed. Hope it works.

I really thought that I was going to cry during the Elliot Page/Oprah interview this week, but instead I cried at the end of a cartoon movie called The Mitchells vs. The Machines.

Another SURVEY prompt!

Someone asked me to write about my all-girls school experience, and I don’t really have the strength or time right now, BUT I did do my screenwriting/media theory honors thesis on the topic so …

Here’s the intro to that!

I hope it’s interesting/ gives you a general sense of the questions I was asking in 2018 and the questions I’m still asking 2day (with less pretentiousness because… jesus, this writing is… yuck).

Other questions I asked people in my interviews:

What is the future of single-sex education as the world grows increasingly fluid?

How do you raise a feminist? How do you educate a feminist?

Can feminism be taught?

How does a hyper-saturated “girl power” environment shape, alter, and change mindsets?

Must cinema always be gendered & sexed? Possibility for unsexed, ungendered cinema?

How can media strike an effective balance between normalization and spectacularization?

“Have your characters too busy doing their own looking to be looked at.”

My brilliant solution for how queer and femme characters can escape/subvert the male gaze.

Individuality and productivity – my entire deal in college.

I really hammered it home in the conclusion!!! Lol good god

Anyway, I interviewed 60 girls school alumnae ages 18-80 and then started to work on the script with all of this “theory” in mind.

The script isn’t good, but I passed the thesis class.

What a lovely trip down memory lane.
